The District employees accumulate a total of 12 days per year. Sick Leave is accumulated in unlimited amounts. Upon retirement, the employee may receive cash payments of 30% to 50% of their monthly salary based on the total days of sick leave accrued at the time of retirement.
Sick Leave Cash Out
The District will pay up to 40 hours of accrued sick leave per year under the following conditions:
- A total of 240 hours must be maintained after reimbursement
- The request for reimbursement must be submitted in writing to the Human Resources Department
- The General Manager must approve all requests
Bereavement
The District allows three days of Bereavement Leave due to the death of persons in the immediate family or any relative living with the employee.
