WVWD Launches “Find Your Flow” Video Series to Showcase Careers in Water
West Valley Water District (WVWD/District) announced the launch of its new video series “Find Your Flow”, created to highlight the diverse career opportunities available within the water industry and showcase the employees who perform the essential work necessary to provide reliable, high-quality water service to the community.
The series features seven WVWD employees at different stages of their career, from those just beginning their professional journey to those who have dedicated decades to serving the community. Each video highlights the employee’s background, career path, and the essential functions of their positions.
“It was important to us to not only showcase the critical roles that our employees play at the District, but to demonstrate the diverse opportunities available within the water industry and encourage interest in joining the water workforce,” said General Manager John Thiel. “Each video shares a personal story of how and why that employee came to the district and experiences that have shaped their career journey.”
WVWD is committed to supporting workforce retention and resiliency through education initiatives and community outreach.
“The District’s Strategic Plan was created in part to design a framework to address workforce challenges by creating and retaining the next generation of water stewards,” said Board President Kelvin Moore. “Educating the community about the various pathways they can utilize to join our team of water professionals was the first step.”
“Find Your Flow” episodes will be released on a weekly basis on both the District’s social media channels and on it’s dedicated webpage, www.wvwd.org/careersinwater.
